Memoirs of a Challenged Mind
19. Feb, 2017
I wonder why the clouds are grey and the sky a cobalt blue,
And why a summer sunset shimmers a spectacular golden hue.
I wonder why the kookies laugh at a spray of misty rain,
And why an aging body’s often consumed with stifling pain.
I wonder why a mighty gum sheds its flaking bark,
And why the gloom of depression leaves us cowering in the dark.
I wonder why the sound of water calms our stressed out minds,
And why love is life's real conduit, ‘tis the greatest tie that binds.
I wonder why adversity gives us strength to find our way,
And why a sense of purpose provides meaning to each day.
I wonder why what matters most are the connections we all make,
For without them sheer emptiness would cause our hearts to ache.
